This Privacy Policy explains how Wealth Schema collects, uses, and shares personal information about visitors to wealthschema.com, registered account holders, dataset purchasers, and API users. It does not apply to the synthetic data offered through the Services, which by design contains no real personal information.
2.1 Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed), and organization name when you register.
- Order information: billing name, billing email, billing address, order ID, purchase date, dataset or bundle name, and household count, processed through our payment processor (which receives card details directly; we do not store full card numbers).
- Communications: messages you send to support@wealthschema.com or through support channels.
Information collected automatically
- Log and usage data: IP address, user agent, referring URL, pages or endpoints accessed, request timestamps, response codes, approximate location derived from IP, and similar telemetry.
- Cookies and similar technologies: as described in our Cookies Policy.
Information from third parties
We receive information from our payment processor (transaction status, last four digits of payment instrument, billing country), from our email and analytics providers, and, where you sign in via a third-party identity provider, the basic profile information that provider returns.
2.2 How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- create and maintain accounts and authenticate users;
- process orders, deliver datasets, and issue invoices and receipts;
- operate, monitor, secure, and improve the Services, including detecting abuse;
- respond to support requests and communicate about the Services, including transactional notices and material changes;
- send product updates and marketing where permitted by law (you can opt out at any time);
- comply with legal obligations, including tax, accounting, and anti-fraud requirements; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (delivering the Services you order), legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the Services and pursuing direct marketing for similar products), consent (for non-essential cookies and certain marketing), and compliance with legal obligations.
2.3 How We Share Information
We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell personal information.
- Service providers: hosting, content delivery, payment processing, email delivery, customer support, analytics, and error monitoring vendors that process information on our behalf under written agreements.
- Affiliates: entities under common control, for the purposes described in this Policy.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users where required.
- Legal and safety: when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
- With your direction: for example, when you ask us to integrate with a third-party tool.
2.4 Data Retention
We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations and to defend potential claims. Log and usage data is typically retained for up to 24 months and then deleted or aggregated. We may retain information longer if required by law or to address active disputes.
2.5 Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege principles for our staff. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security and you should keep your password confidential.
2.6 International Transfers
Wealth Schema is based in the United States and uses service providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or applicable adequacy decisions.
2.7 Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Massachusetts residents are protected by Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 93H and 201 CMR 17.00 with respect to the security of personal information. To exercise any right, contact support@wealthschema.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
